Marissa Farrell

Studio Manager, Instructor

Marissa Farrell

Before becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2015 through the Bancroft School of Massage, Marissa created and (still) instructs a unique yoga practice based on the Astanga Vinyasa, and Iyengar methods of yoga. These traditional styles are heavily influenced by her years of dance, martial arts, personal training, extensive anatomy and physiology education, therapeutic touch providing Myofascial Release through massage, and of course, simply working those skills since 1998.

The efforts put into her yoga teaching show up at the massage table daily through the wide understanding of how the body naturally moves, how humans change with age and stage of life, and the ability to comfort with touch along side take-home exercises or techniques to continue the care between visits.

In addition to being a licensed massage therapist and certified yoga instructor, Marissa is a long-time trained doula and certified childbirth educator. She uses these certifications, alongside training in prenatal massage, to bring comfort to her perinatal, prenatal, and postpartum clients through dialog and massage techniques.

Marissa is a professional Abdominal Therapist based on the teachings of Rosita Arvigo. This is technique, for men and women, hopes to heal gastrointestinal discomforts and reproductive pathology. It is especially beneficial for women preconception through postpartum who may experience difficult menses and other reproductive concerns.

Additional accreditations are in functional nutrition and herbalism both of which are a staple at each appointment to provide a well rounded healing experience each visit.

Marissa's private company, The InHara System, focuses on pelvic and abdominal rehabilitation and personal herbal formulas in teas, tinctures, and elixirs. These herbal products are available at Stepping Stone and by custom order.
