Kristen Duffy Young
Instructor

Kristen has been teaching movement-based classes for over 20 years. She believes in using the body's innate wisdom as a guide for daily living and is committed to helping others find their greatest potential through embodied practices. She loves creating community through shared movement experiences and teaches classes that are informed by her experience as a somatic educator, yoga practitioner, and dancer/choreographer. Kristen is a 200-hour Yoga Instructor (studying with Daniel Orlansky, Jennifer Harvey, and Andrea Fotopolous), a Certified Movement Analyst, Certified Evans Teacher, Director of SynchroniCity Dance Co., Teaching artist at Moving to Connect, and Faculty member at Colleges of the Fenway Dance. She has also been on the faculty of Emmanuel College, Salem State University, and the Longy School of Music. She has received grants for her choreography from the Boston Foundation and New England Foundation for the Arts, and has performed throughout New England and New York. She is the original founder of the Colleges of the Fenway Dance Program and served as Director for 19 years. She also served on the boards of Massachusetts Dance Education Organization and Boston Dance Alliance.
