Z Maria Wang
Instructor

Dr. Z Maria was born into a scholarly family in China, where Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi Gong, and Tai Chi were not just studied — they were lived. From a young age, she received attunement from Qi Gong masters and was immersed in the wisdom of Chinese herbs, meridian system, meditation, and energy healing. By her teenage years, she was already teaching Yang-style 18-form Tai Chi — marking the beginning of a lifelong journey now spanning more than 30 years. Over time, this path has expanded to include yoga and Reiki — she completed her RYT-200 yoga teacher training at the Down Under School of Yoga and became a Reiki Master Teacher under Libby Barnett. In the early 2000s she earned a Ph.D. in the US followed by a 20-year professional career in the U.S. corporate world and Higher Education. Throughout those intense years, it was the mind-body practice, including Qi Gong / Tai Chi, Yoga, and Meditation, that helped her navigate stress, mental health challenges, as well as life’s many transitions. Ultimately, these practices illuminated her true calling: to support others on their own journeys of healing, recovery, and inner transformation. Outside the studio, her practice supports her to live a full and adventurous life as a hiker, marathon runner, scuba diver, and world traveler. She also continues to draw inspiration from spiritual traditions such as Mahayana Buddhism and Stoicism. For Dr. Z Maria, Qi Gong and Tai Chi are living art forms that reconnect body, mind, and spirit. Her teaching weaves together the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Daoist and Buddhist philosophy, energy healing, with elements of Western yoga and fitness. She guides students in awakening their innate resilience and inner wisdom, relieving chronic pain and mental burden, and cultivating lasting health, vitality, and longevity. Dr. Z Maria is honored to share these transformative practices at the studio as pathways to sustainable health and elevated awareness.
