Cupping therapy is a traditional form of alternative medicine that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. How to integrate this bodywork modality into a massage session, while staying within our scope of practice.
We will examine and show applications of various styles of cups including glass, acrylic, and silicone cups. Attendees will be able to observe various applications of cupping as well as practice with partners to learn the differences between lighter and deeper cupping applications. Fire cupping will be discussed, but not performed during this class. We will have silicone cupping sets for sale on site.
This is a hands-on class, bring your full set of sheets including face cradle cover, hand towel, and unscented lubricant. If you are able to bring a massage table, please let your instructor know.

Scott Raymond, LMT is a massage therapist, long-time volunteer with the American Massage Therapy Association, and an advocate for ethical practices in the massage field. He is the owner of StrongHouse Studio, one of the premier massage continuing education venues in Connecticut, and often travels nationally to teach at AMTA conventions as well as other local continuing education studios.
